Job Description:
1) Competitor Intelligence:
Continuously monitor & analyze industry trends within the refrigerator, washing machines, and air-conditioning products.
Produce detailed reports highlighting insights in Industrial Design (ID), Color, Material, and Finish (CMF), and User Experience (UX) to bolster product competitiveness.
2) Design Trends & Lifestyle Insights:
Deeply understand the lifestyles and preferences of our target consumers.
Conduct thorough research on emerging design trends, including new form factors, color schemes, materials, and technologies, to inform and inspire our product development.
3) Innovative Concepts:
Lead and facilitate ideation workshops, collaborating with cross-functional teams from Design, Product Planning, Marketing, and R&D.
Drive the development of innovative concepts for the TCL Home Appliances portfolio, including refrigerators, washing machines, and air conditioners.
4) Design Strategy to Support NPI Landing Execution:
Develop clear design strategies & design language directions by integrating insights & innovative concepts.
Summarize and highlight key innovation points aligned with business strategies for executive presentations and decision-making (BU GMs & Leadership team).
Work closely with internal teams (Platform & BU Product Design, X-Labs, R&D, and UX) to transform concepts into tangible product experience prototypes, ensuring a seamless transition from industrial design to manufacturing design (ID-MD).
5) Storytelling to Support Commercial Landing & PR:
Ensure that innovative concepts are impeccably translated into engaging product experiences for consumers.
Collaborate with design, product, and marketing teams to craft compelling design narratives for product launches and promotional activities.
Prepare entries for international design awards, enhancing TCL's brand reputation and design prominence.
